Sean Hannity and Fox News Report on Bed-Stuy Volunteer Ambulance Corps.July 28, 2008: Fox News reported in a lengthy peice on the heriocs being performed in Bed-Stuy daily by the "true American heroes" from "the historic" Bedford-Stuyvesant Volunteer Ambulance Corps. Fox News followed "vollies" (volunteer ambulance workers) and recorded riveting emergency footage, along with interviews with the NYC EMTs, youth trainees, and founder and chief Rocky Robinson.

20th Anniversary

20 Anniversary CelebrationThis is BSVAC's 20th Year of saving and changing lives.  Thanks to all who joined us on Sat. July 19, 2008 for our Gala Anniversary Celebration.  It was a day of inspiration, recognition, music (featuring the R&B star Priceless) and fun.  A Moonlite Bus Cruise to Atlantic City capped off the celebration.  This is a milestone of which we can all be proud and we look forward to celebrating our 40th anniversary!

We have exciting news: the City has formally approved the funding contracts for the new trailer that will serve as our operational headquarters. Special thanks to Marty Markowitz, Brooklyn Borough President, who initiated the grant for our new trailer, and to the NYC Department of Design & Construction. More work lies ahead as we apply for required permits and prepare the site for installation of our new trailer.

Our new EMT Training Center has been dedicated to Deborah CrawfordWe regretfully announce the passing of our Vice President, Deborah Crawford. As BSVAC's Training Director, Deborah was instrumental in training thousands of people. During her long association with BSVAC, she also served on our Board of Directors and as Chief of Communications. Our new EMT Training Center has been dedicated to her honor.

Bedford-Stuyvesant Volunteer Ambulance Corps (BSVAC), the nation’s first minority-run volunteer ambulance corps, was founded in 1988 by two EMS workers, Captain James "Rocky" Robinson and Specialist Joe Perez.  BSVAC has greatly improved emergency care in the Bed-Stuy community and trained countless youngsters and adults in life-saving skills.
